Chief Adviser arrives in New York

Chief Adviser of the interim government, Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus, has arrived in New York, USA, to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.

At 3pm local time on Monday, an Emirates Airlines commercial flight carrying the Chief Adviser and his delegation landed at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Accompanying the Chief Adviser on this trip are six political leaders. They include BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BNP Acting Chairman’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir, Jamaat-e-Islami’s Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher, National Citizen Party (NCP) Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, and Joint Convenor Dr Tasnim Jara. They joined the delegation from Dhaka. In addition, Jamaat leader Nakibur Rahman Tarek will join the delegation from the United States.

Earlier, on September 22 at 1:40 a.m., the flight carrying the Chief Adviser and his delegation departed from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in Dhaka for New York.

According to the schedule, Professor Yunus will deliver his address at the United Nations General Assembly on September 26.
