Chief Adviser calls for greater cooperation among DITF participants
Chief Adviser Dr. Muhammad Yunus has urged all countries and institutions participating in the Dhaka International Trade Fair (DITF) to work together in a spirit of cooperation and partnership.
In a message issued on December 31 on the occasion of the 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair 2026, he said the interim government remains firmly committed to ensuring economic stability and achieving targeted growth.
The fair was initially scheduled to begin on January 1, but the opening was deferred to January 3 following the death of former prime minister and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.
Describing the fair as a unique initiative, Yunus said it would showcase Bangladesh’s immense potential on the global stage. He extended greetings and congratulations to local and foreign industrialists, investors, traders and visitors participating in the month-long event.
He noted that the DITF plays a vital role in promoting domestic products and expanding Bangladesh’s export trade by connecting quality local goods with domestic and international buyers, importers and visitors. At the same time, he said, local entrepreneurs and consumers gain valuable insights into foreign products, designs and global market trends.
Yunus said the interim government has been working sincerely since assuming office to stabilise the economy and achieve desired growth, adding that the trade fair could serve as an important catalyst in expanding economic activities, creating employment and boosting exports of Bangladeshi products.
He expressed optimism that the fair would also contribute to product diversification, attract foreign investment and support overall national development.
The chief adviser expressed hope that all participating countries and institutions would engage through mutual cooperation and partnership, making the fair attractive, buyer-friendly and festive. He wished the 30th Dhaka International Trade Fair 2026 every success.
