Chief Adviser changes voter area
Chief Adviser of the interim government Dr Muhammad Yunus has changed his voter area. The change was approved by ASM Humayun Kabir, Director General of the National Identity Registration (NID) Wing.
The Election Commission Secretariat disclosed the information on Sunday, October 12.
According to NID database information, Dr Muhammad Yunus was previously registered as a voter under the address of Grameen Bank Complex in Mirpur. His voter area has now been transferred to Gulshan-2 under Dhaka North City Corporation’s Ward-19 in the Dhaka-17 constituency.
The Chief Adviser submitted a written application for the address change on February 2, and the Director General approved it on February 17. The amendment was made the following day.
It is to be noted that a person can vote in any election within the area where they are registered as a voter.
