Chief Adviser congratulates Nepal’s new PM

Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Professor Dr Muhammad Yunus, has congratulated Sushila Karki on her appointment as the new Prime Minister of Nepal.

In a message on Saturday, the Chief Adviser said, “On behalf of the Government and people of Bangladesh, and on my own behalf, I extend my heartfelt congratulations on your appointment as the Prime Minister of Nepal.”

Professor Yunus noted that Bangladesh attaches great significance to Sushila Karki’s assumption of office, viewing it as a reflection of the trust and confidence of the people of Nepal.

“As a long-standing friend and neighbour, we firmly believe that under your able leadership, Nepal and its resilient people will advance towards peace, development, and stability,” he said.

The Chief Adviser expressed deep sorrow over the recent political incidents in Nepal that claimed lives.

In his message, he said, “We convey our deepest sympathies to the bereaved families and wish the injured a speedy and full recovery.”

Professor Yunus also expressed hope that the existing ties of friendship, cooperation, and mutual respect between Bangladesh and Nepal would be further strengthened under her leadership.

He wished Sushila Karki good health and success, and peace and prosperity for the people of Nepal.
