Chief Adviser expresses satisfaction over election commission’s preparations

Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus has said that the Election Commission is in the driving seat for the much-anticipated national election, and it is everyone’s responsibility to ensure that the desired target is achieved. At the time, the chief adviser also expressed satisfaction over the preparations for the election.

On Sunday evening, Chief Election Commissioner AMM Nasir Uddin, along with four election commissioners, met the chief adviser at Jamuna State Guest House. He said that the government would continue to provide full cooperation to the EC for a fair and impartial election. He further stated, “In the first half of February, we are moving towards giving the nation the best election in history.”

During the meeting, CEC Nasir Uddin informed the chief adviser that all preparations for organising the election are progressing properly and that the commission is fully prepared to hold the national election and a referendum on the same day in the first half of February.

Election commissioners, the EC secretary, the national security adviser and the principal secretary to the chief adviser were present in the meeting. The CEC also said that citizens have already become engaged in election-related activities, which has created an electoral atmosphere across the country.

CEC and other commissioners thanked the chief adviser for extending full support to the EC during preparations. Through the chief adviser, they also conveyed thanks to members of the law enforcement agencies and the armed forces.
