Chief Adviser returns home
Professor Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Chief Adviser of the interim government, returned to Bangladesh on Thursday following a nine-day visit to the United States to attend the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly.
The Emirates flight carrying Dr. Yunus landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 9 am., according to the Chief Adviser’s Press Wing.
Dr. Yunus arrived in New York on September 23 to participate in the General Assembly as well as other high-level international meetings.
This year, his delegation included BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, BNP Acting Chairman’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Humayun Kabir, Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer Syed Abdullah Muhammad Taher, National Citizens Party (NCP) Member Secretary Akhtar Hossain, and Joint Convenor Dr. Tasnim Jara.
During the visit, on September 26, Dr. Yunus delivered a speech at the 80th session of the UN General Assembly.
