Chief Advisor pays tribute at Shikha Anirban

The interim government's Chief Advisor Dr Muhammad Yunus has paid tribute to the memory of the armed forces martyred members.

He paid tribute by placing a wreath at Shikha Anirban at 11:30am on Thursday (September 5) at Dhaka Cantonment.

Sheikh Hasina resigned from the PM post on August 5 noon amid protests by students and immediately fled the country taking refuge in India. On that day, Army Chief General Waker-uz-Zaman announced about the formation of interim government.

That night, the president also met with the chiefs of three armed forces and political party leaders at Bangabhaban. Later in the night, in his address to the nation, President Md Shahabuddin also announced the formation of an interim government.

Later, Dr Yunus' name was announced as the head of the interim government on behalf of the student protestors.
