Child shot in JSS-UPDF clash in Sajek

A gunfight has occurred between two armed sides supported by UPDF (Prasit) and JSS (Santu Larma) over establishing dominance in Sajek of Baghaichhari upazila in Rangamati. A child named Sanjita Tripura (9) was shot in the incident.

The gunfight took place in the Chaillyatli area of Sajek around 8am on Tuesday, September 29.

Locals said the two armed sides supported by UPDF (Prasit) and JSS (Santu Larma) exchanged gunfire over establishing dominance. Several hundred rounds of bullets were exchanged during this time. Amid the gunfire, Sanjita Tripura, a child resident of the Chaillyatli area, was shot in the left hand. The bullet was later removed from her hand.

Sajek Police Station Officer-in-Charge Tofayel confirmed the truth of the gunfire between the two sides in the morning over establishing dominance. He said the shot child is currently doing well.
