Child student seriously injured by madrasa teacher
A madrasa teacher in Narsingdi has been accused of severely beating a child student, leaving him seriously injured. The incident occurred at Madrasatul Abrar Arabia Madrasa, located at Velanagar Jailkhana intersection in the town around 11am on Friday.
The injured child, Mujahid, 7, is the son of Jewel Ahmed from Dakshin Kararchar village in Shibpur Upazila. The accused teacher, Nazmus Sakib, is the son of Ashraf Uddin from Bagmara village in Mymensingh.
According to local sources, the madrasa is located beside the Dhaka–Sylhet Highway near Velanagar Jailkhana intersection in Narsingdi town. Mujahid, a first-grade student who stayed at the madrasa, reportedly refused to bathe with cold water on Friday morning. Following this, teacher Nazmus Sakib allegedly beat him, causing serious injuries.
After receiving the news, the child’s father went to the madrasa at noon and, seeing his son’s condition, took him home. Later that night, Mujahid began vomiting repeatedly and his condition worsened. He was admitted to Narsingdi District Hospital on Saturday morning.
Officer-in-Charge A R M Al Mamun of the Narsingdi Sadar Police Station said that the child’s father, Jewel Ahmed, filed a case at the police station. The accused teacher has been arrested.
