China eases medical visa process for Bangladeshi patients
The Chinese Embassy in Dhaka has introduced a special, easier visa process for Bangladeshi patients who wish to receive medical treatment in China. Under this system, medical visa applicants will benefit from a simplified document process and a fast-track 'Green Channel' service.
This information was announced in a statement on the website of the Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh on Sunday (May 4).
The statement said that this step was taken as part of the agreement made during the visit of Bangladesh's Chief Adviser of the interim government, Muhammad Yunus, to China in March. During that visit, both countries agreed to enhance cooperation in the health sector and make the exchange of personnel easier.
Under the new system, licensed local Bangladeshi travel agencies can now issue bank deposit certificates and guarantee letters proving blood relation for those traveling to China for medical treatment. As a result, applicants no longer need to submit certificates approved by Bangladesh’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Online visa applications will now be reviewed on a priority basis. A special counter has also been set up at the visa center for medical visas, allowing applicants to submit documents without waiting in line.
In emergency cases, a special 'Green Channel' has been introduced to issue visas on the same day.
Applicants with scheduled interview appointments will also receive priority service without having to wait in a queue. If a patient is physically unable to attend the interview, online interviews may be allowed through a guarantee letter from the travel agency.
For any inquiries related to medical visas, the embassy has provided dedicated hotline numbers (0222260103, 01708464809) and the visa application center located on the third floor of Prasad Trade Center, 6 Kamal Ataturk Avenue, Banani, Dhaka (02226603261). A WhatsApp service group (01885041364) has also been launched.
This initiative is expected to make the visa process faster and easier for Bangladeshi people seeking medical treatment in China. The main goal is to strengthen cooperation in public health and make travel between the two countries more convenient.
