Chinese envoy holds meeting with BNP Leaders

Chinese Ambassador to Bangladesh Yao Wen paid a courtesy visit to senior leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) at the party chairperson’s office in Gulshan on Tuesday morning.

The meeting took place at 11:30 am, confirmed Shayrul Kabir Khan, a member of the BNP media cell. He said the ambassador came to meet with the BNP delegation that recently returned from an official visit to China.

The five-day trip, which began on 27 June, was led by BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir. The delegation’s visit aimed to strengthen bilateral ties and foster cooperation.

During the meeting, Ambassador Yao Wen held talks with Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, Standing Committee members Mirza Abbas, Abdul Moyeen Khan, Begum Selima Rahman, and the Chairperson’s Private Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar.

The visit underlines ongoing diplomatic engagement between China and Bangladesh’s leading opposition party.
