Chinese FM expresses condolences over Milestone plane crash

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi has expressed deep sorrow over the tragic military aircraft crash at the Milestone School and College campus in Dhaka's Uttara. He also conveyed his sympathy to the families of the victims.

In a message sent on Tuesday to Bangladesh’s Foreign Affairs Adviser Md Touhid Hossain, Wang Yi said, “I am deeply saddened by the news of a military aircraft crash in Dhaka. I offer my heartfelt condolences to the victims, and express sincere sympathy to the bereaved families and the injured. I also wish the injured a speedy recovery.”

Earlier on Monday, the governments of India, the United States, and Pakistan also expressed their condolences over the incident.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the number of confirmed deaths from Monday’s (July 21) accident has risen to 31. A total of 165 injured people are currently receiving treatment in various hospitals.
