Chinese premier congratulates PM Tarique Rahman

Chinese Premier Li Qiang has congratulated Tarique Rahman on assuming office as Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

In a congratulatory message, Li highlighted the long-standing friendship and strategic co-operation between the two countries.

He said China and Bangladesh are longstanding friendly partners engaged in comprehensive strategic co-operation. Over the 51 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have advanced on the basis of mutual respect, mutually beneficial co-operation and win-win principles.

Li added that the Chinese government would support Bangladesh’s new administration in ensuring smooth governance. He also expressed China’s readiness to work with Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to strengthen high-quality Belt and Road co-operation, expand exchanges across various sectors and elevate bilateral relations to a new height.

According to the Chinese premier, such co-operation would bring greater benefits to the peoples of both countries.
