CJFB hosts 24th Performance Awards with a glittering ceremony

The Cultural Journalists Forum of Bangladesh (CJFB) hosted its 24th Performance Awards on Friday night with a glittering ceremony at the China-Bangladesh Friendship Conference Center, honouring top performers across film, television, music, and dance.

Presided over by CJFB President Enam Sarkar, the event was graced by Globe Soft Drinks Ltd Chairman Md Harunur Rashid and Ekushey Television Chairman and CEO Abdus Salam as special guests. CJFB adviser Tamim Hasan delivered the welcome address.

Abdus Salam highlighted Ekushey Television’s continued commitment to promoting Bangladeshi culture, emphasizing that “a nation progresses when its culture thrives.” CJFB Joint Secretary Shakilur Rahman described the ceremony as a celebration of artistic excellence and inspiration for creative growth.

The evening began with a special honour for renowned singer Baby Nazneen. Awards were later presented across multiple categories, recognizing outstanding contributions to the country’s entertainment industry.

Superstar Shakib Khan was named Best Film Actor, while Masuma Rahman Nabila received Best Film Actress. Jaya Ahsan earned the Best Female Critics Award. In the drama category, Tanjin Tisha and Ziaul Haque Polash won Best Actress and Best Actor respectively, with Tasnia Farin taking the Best Web Film Performer title.

In music, Imran Mahmudul and Somnur Monir Konal were honoured as Best Male and Best Female Vocalists, Prince Mahmud received Best Composer, and Asif Iqbal was named Best Lyricist.

Additionally, 13 distinguished figures from the cultural and corporate sectors were presented with the CJFB Jury Awards.

The night featured captivating performances by Baby Naznin, Konal, Imran, and Oishi, along with dance acts by stars including Purnima, Chandni, Tanjin Tisha, Mandira Chakraborty, Sajal, and Tasnuva Tisha, making it a dazzling celebration of Bangladeshi art and entertainment.
