Chief Adviser's press wing has said that the claims of changing the national flag are "completely baseless."

Rejecting the claims, the press wing made a statement on its Verified Facebook page, stating, "False information has been widely spread on various websites and social media platforms such as X that the interim government of Bangladesh is considering changing the national flag."

"A digitally created image of a fictional flag with the Islamic symbol of the crescent and star, associated with Pakistan and Turkey, has gone viral. It has got nearly one million views and has received a huge response — especially among viewers in Pakistan, Türkiye and the Middle East," it added.

The press wing says the information is nothing but a rumors on social media which is ‘completely false.’

According to fact check, "There is no basis for this issue being discussed nationally, nor has any reliable local or international media outlet mentioned this move anywhere."

The press wing says, "This false narrative has been intentionally propagated to incite identity-based tensions among nationalist or conservative audiences by exploiting religious symbols."

The press wing further urged social media users to verify any such matter before sharing it.

"There is no movement or public demand in Bangladesh to change the national flag; such fabricated stories only misrepresent the truth and fuel unnecessary division," the press wing confirmed.
