Clash between DU students, doctors at DMCH

A clash occurred between doctors at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) and students from Dhaka University, leading to a temporary suspension of emergency services at the hospital.

According to Inspector Md. Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH hospital police post, the incident began around 5:30pm on Wednesday (April 8).

He said the altercation took place between doctors in the emergency department and students from Amar Ekushey Hall of Dhaka University.

As a result, the emergency department is currently not admitting new patients, and the situation remains tense.

OC Md. Moniruzzaman of Shahbagh Police Station stated that police were dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of the clash between some Dhaka University students and DMCH doctors around 5:30pm.

Law enforcement is working to restore normalcy and maintain law and order.
