Class XI admission begins July 30, classes start Sep 15

The Ministry of Education has announced the schedule for Class XI admissions for the 2025–26 academic year. Online applications will open on July 30, and continue until August 11, with classes set to begin on September 15.

The first merit list will be published on August 20, followed by subsequent application phases. Final admissions must be completed between September 7 and 14.

As in previous years, there will be no admission test, and selection will be based solely on SSC and equivalent exam results. However, institutions such as Notre Dame College may hold admission tests if permitted by court directives.

Under the official policy, 93% of seats will be filled on a merit basis, while 7% will be allocated to specific quotas: 1% for children of Ministry of Education staff; 1% for children of staff from affiliated departments and agencies; 5% for children of freedom fighters or martyred freedom fighters.

Unfilled quota seats must be filled from the general merit list, and no seats may be left vacant.
