CMP warns against profiting thru case filing
The Chattogram Metropolitan Police (CMP) has warned the city dwellers about the 'case trading' that has been going on across the port city since August 5.
The warning was made through a press release sent by the CMP Commissioner on Thursday (January 2).
The release said it has been observed recently that some unscrupulous groups are illegally obtaining immoral benefits by promising to get exemption from cases filed recently with various police stations under the Chattogram Metropolitan Police or by threatening to be implicated in the cases.
It further states that in such a context, it is being informed for the kind information of the general public that the investigation of each case registered recently is being supervised at several levels by the Police Headquarters and senior officers of the CMP. Therefore, there is no opportunity to take unfair and immoral benefits from the said cases.
“All concerned are requested to be vigilant against the mischief of such fraudulent gangs. At the same time, it is humbly requested that as soon as any member of such fraudulent gang contacts any respected city resident, they should inform the concerned police station or call 999,” said the release.
