The Coast Guard has intensified patrolling and surveillance in border areas under its jurisdiction to prevent cross-border push-in attempts. Coast Guard media officer Lieutenant Commander Sabbir Alam Sujon confirmed the information on Friday, June 5.

The Coast Guard has strengthened round-the-clock patrols and surveillance to ensure the security of border areas and national security, he said.

The Coast Guard reported that no push-in incidents have occurred so far in the Bangladesh-India border areas under its jurisdiction. Surveillance continues round the clock in coordination with the Coast Guard and other relevant agencies to prevent push-ins and any form of illegal infiltration.

The Coast Guard has also strengthened intelligence surveillance, drone surveillance and modern technology-based monitoring systems in the Sundarbans and other border-adjacent areas.

Sabbir Alam Sujon urged aware citizens to cooperate in preventing push-ins by providing any relevant information to the Coast Guard emergency service number 16111.
