Coast Guard seizes foreign rifle, Yaba tablets in Teknaf The Coast Guard has recovered a foreign rifle, a magazine, five rounds of fresh bullets and 70,000 pieces of Yaba tablets from the Leda canal area in Teknaf, Cox's Bazar. No arrests have been made. Coast Guard Media Officer Sabbir Alam Sujan confirmed the matter in a press release on Monday, May 11. According to the press release, a special operation was conducted in the Leda canal area of Teknaf Coast Guard Station around 3:00 am on Monday based on secret information. The Coast Guard said drug smugglers fled into the hilly area upon sensing their presence, making it impossible to arrest anyone. Legal action is being taken regarding the seized arms, ammunition and Yaba tablets.

কক্সবাজারের টেকনাফের লেদা খাল সংলগ্ন এলাকা থেকে বিদেশি রাইফেল-গুলি-ইয়াবা উদ্ধার করেছে কোস্টগার্ড। তবে কাউকে আটক করতে পারেনি। এসময় একটি বিদেশি রাইফেল, একটি ম্যাগাজিন, পাঁচ রাউন্ড তাজা গুলি ও ৭০ হাজার পিস ইয়াবা জব্দ করা হয়। সোমবার (১১ মে) দুপুরে কোস্ট গার্ডের মিডিয়া কর্মকর্তা সাব্বির আলম সুজন এক সংবাদ বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে এ তথ্য জানান। বিজ্ঞপ্তিতে বলা হয়, গোপন সংবাদের ভিত্তিতে সোমবার ভোররাত তিনটার দিকে কোস্ট গার্ড স্টেশন টেকনাফ লেদা খাল–সংলগ্ন এলাকায় বিশেষ অভিযান চালায়। কোস্ট গার্ড জানায়, অভিযানের সময় তাদের উপস্থিতি টের পেয়ে মাদক কারবারিরা পাহাড়ি এলাকায় পালিয়ে যায়। এ কারণে কাউকে আটক করা সম্ভব হয়নি। জব্দ করা অস্ত্র, গোলাবারুদ ও ইয়াবার বিষয়ে পরবর্তী আইনগত ব্যবস্থা নেওয়ার প্রক্রিয়া চলছে বলে জানিয়েছে কোস্ট গার্ড।
