Cocktail blast injures pedestrian in New Eskaton

A pedestrian was injured in a cocktail explosion in front of the Waqf Building on New Eskaton Road in the capital around 8:40am on Sunday (November 16).

The injured, Abdul Bashir, 50, an employee of a private firm, was heading toward Banglamotor when the device exploded. He sustained injuries to his hands and legs. Locals provided first aid before taking him to a nearby hospital.

Bashir told the media he suspects the cocktail was thrown from the flyover above the spot.

Police arrived shortly after the incident and have launched an investigation to determine the source and motive behind the explosion.
