Cocktail explosions, gunfire in front of Jatrabari Police Station, 1 shot

Multiple cocktail explosions and gunfire have taken place in front of the main gate of Jatrabari Police Station of the capital. One person has been injured by being shot in this, it has been learnt. This incident took place at 7:40pm on Friday (September 18).

Duty officer of Jatrabari Police Station Assistant Sub-Inspector Md Hasanur confirming the truth of the incident informed that after 7:30pm the sound of several loud explosions one after another was heard in front of the main gate of the police station. Looking at the primary signs police are assuming these to be cocktail explosions. Immediately after the explosions the sound of gunfire was also heard.

After the incident senior officers of police inspected the spot. It could not be immediately confirmed who are involved with the attack. Law enforcement agencies have started investigation to identify and arrest those involved.

Earlier on the same day cocktail explosions also took place at various places in Malibagh, Mohakhali and Agargaon of the capital. Multiple cocktail explosions had also taken place in Dhaka University area and Supreme Court premises on Tuesday (September 15).

The activities of law enforcement agencies have been strengthened in the incidents of these successive explosions at various places of the capital.
