The principal of Gaibandha's Mohimaganj Degree College, Nazmul Huda (56), was killed after being hit by an unidentified vehicle in Bogura Sadar. The accident occurred around 6:30am on Monday (July 27) in the Matidali area of Bogura Sadar on the Dhaka-Rangpur highway. Nazmul Huda was a resident of Ulipur village in Gobindaganj upazila of Gaibandha. Kundarhat Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Hafiz Uddin said Nazmul Huda was crossing the highway on foot when an unidentified vehicle struck him and fled the scene. He died on the spot. The body was handed over to the family after completion of legal procedures. Efforts are underway to identify the vehicle involved in the accident.

বগুড়া সদরে অজ্ঞাত একটি গাড়ির ধাক্কায় গাইবান্ধার মহিমাগঞ্জ ডিগ্রি কলেজের অধ্যক্ষ নাজমুল হুদা (৫৬) নিহত হয়েছেন। সোমবার (২৭ জুলাই) সকাল সাড়ে ৬টার দিকে ঢাকা-রংপুর মহাসড়কের বগুড়া সদরের মাটিডালি এলাকায় এ দুর্ঘটনা ঘটে। নিহত নাজমুল হুদা গাইবান্ধার গোবিন্দগঞ্জ উপজেলার উলিপুর গ্রামের বাসিন্দা। কুন্দারহাট হাইওয়ে থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) মো. হাফিজ উদ্দিন জানান, নাজমুল হুদা পায়ে হেঁটে মহাসড়ক পার হওয়ার সময় অজ্ঞাত একটি গাড়ি তাকে ধাক্কা দিয়ে দ্রুত পালিয়ে যায়। ঘটনাস্থলেই তার মৃত্যু হয়। তিনি আরও জানান, প্রয়োজনীয় আইনগত প্রক্রিয়া শেষে মরদেহ স্বজনদের কাছে হস্তান্তর করা হয়েছে। দুর্ঘটনায় জড়িত গাড়িটিকে শনাক্তের চেষ্টা চলছে।
