College student's hanging body found in Satkhira

The family has recovered the hanging body of a college student named Saikat Mukherjee, 18, in Shyamnagar upazila of Satkhira. The incident took place in the Banshipur area of ​​the upazila on Saturday (May 2).

The deceased Saikat is a second-year student of Shyamnagar Government Mohsin College and son of Aditya Mukherjee of Banshipur village.

According to family sources, Saikat went to sleep in his room after dinner on Friday (May 1). The next morning, when his classmate Seema Bairagi called to inquire, the family members became suspicious. Later, they broke the door of the house and found him hanging with a towel wrapped around the fan.

He was quickly rescued and taken to a local doctor, who declared him dead. On receiving information, the police went to the spot, recovered the body and sent it to the morgue for autopsy.

Officer-in-charge of Shyamnagar Police Station Md. Khaledur Rahman said that an accidental death (UD) case has been registered in this incident and the matter is under investigation. Necessary legal action will be taken if the family files a complaint.
