Commission formed to investigate enforced disappearances from past 16 years
A commission has been formed to investigate cases of enforced disappearances involving the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB), police, and other law enforcement agencies over the past 16 years.
The five-member investigative committee was formed on Tuesday.
Retired High Court Division judge, Justice Moyeenul Islam Chowdhury, has been appointed as the president of the commission.
The other members of the commission include retired High Court Division judge Justice Farid Ahmed Shibli, human rights activists Nur Khan and Sazzad Hossain, and BRAC University faculty member Nabila Idris.
The committee has been instructed to submit its report within 45 working days.
The cabinet division issued a gazette in this regard.
