Committee being formed to resolve dispute between Tabligh Jamaat factions: Adviser

A committee is being formed to settle the dispute between the two factions of Tabligh Jamaat, Religious Affairs Adviser A F M Khalid Hossain announced Wednesday.

Speaking at a press conference following a meeting with representatives of both groups at the Secretariat, Khalid said the committee would be led by an Additional Secretary and include members from both sides.

“We hope this committee will help the two factions reach a consensus and prevent future conflicts,” he said.

The meeting was also attended by Home Affairs Adviser Lieutenant General (Retd.) Md. Jahangir Alam Chowdhury and Khoda Baksh Chowdhury, Special Assistant to the Chief Adviser in the Ministry of Home Affairs.

Khalid added that the discussions were held in a cordial atmosphere. “We invited the leaders for tea and aimed to bring their differences to a manageable level,” he said.
