Following the crash of a military aircraft at the permanent campus of Milestone School and College in capital's Uttara, the school authorities have formed a six-member committee to determine the exact number of those affected and to prepare a list of the injured, deceased, and missing, including their names and addresses. Although the full extent of the tragedy is not yet clear due to the severity of the incident, many people inside the school were injured or worse.
The committee was formed on Tuesday (July 23), with Principal Mohammad Ziaul Alam as its chairperson and was instructed to submit a full report within three working days.
The other members of the committee are Vice Principal (Administration) Md Masud Alam, Head Teacher Khadija Akter, Coordinator Lutfunnesa Lopa, Parent Representative Moniruzzaman Molla (father of fourth-grade student Zaima Jahan), and two twelfth-grade students — Maruf Bin Ziaur Rahman and Vashnim Bhuiyan Protik. The school authorities have directed the committee to visit the site, meet with the affected families, verify the information, and prepare the list accordingly.
According to sources, the committee’s report will be used not only for internal management but may also be shared with the government, rescue agencies, and other relevant authorities if necessary. The official notification establishing the committee, signed by the principal, has already been emailed to the concerned parties, and the members have commenced their work.
