Minister for Commerce, Industry, Textiles and Jute Khandaker Abdul Muktadir said that commodity prices have been stable in the market for the past one month and it has been possible to keep them within people's purchasing affordability.

He said this while talking to reporters after the Eid-ul-Fitr congregation at the historic Shahi Eidgah Maidan in Sylhet city on Saturday morning (March 21). Minister for Labor and Employment and Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Ariful Haque Chowdhury was also present at the time.

Khandaker Abdul Muktadir said that this is not the sole success of any individual. This stability has been possible due to the mercy of God, the government's initiatives and the common people's sense of discipline. He said that no one panicked as there was no instability in the market, which has played an important role in keeping the situation under control.

He also said that this government, which has received the mandate of the people, is working to keep the living standards of the people of the country bearable despite global pressure. This is the main goal of the government to keep the prices of commodities within people's purchasing power. All necessary measures will be taken for this.

Minister Ariful Haque Chowdhury said that the expatriate Bangladeshis are facing various problems due to the ongoing conflict in the Middle East. Some have been killed, some are injured and undergoing treatment, while others are spending their days in uncertainty. He sought prayers from everyone for their safe return to the country.

This time, Eid congregations were held at a total of 2,958 places in Sylhet. Of these, 396 congregations were held in the metropolitan area. The main congregation was held at 8:30am at Shahi Eidgah Maidan, where Mufti Rashidur Rahman Faruk led the prayer.
