Company income tax return deadline extended by one month

The National Board of Revenue (NBR) has extended the tax filing deadline for company taxpayers. In an order issued by the NBR on Thursday (January 30), the deadline for filing returns was extended by one month to March 16 instead of February 15.

The relevant sources have confirmed the matter.

According to the Income Tax Act, the deadline for filing returns for individual taxpayers is November 30. If the board wants, it can extend the deadline by another month.

In another order, the NBR further extended the deadline for filing annual income tax returns for individual taxpayers. After extending the deadline twice, the deadline for filing returns was set for Friday (January 31). In this regard, it was extended for the third time today to February 16 instead of January 31. The NBR's tax department issued an order in this regard on Thursday.

Earlier, the NBR extended the deadline by one month in two separate orders on December 29 and November 17. Currently, there are more than 10 million Tax Identification Number (TIN) holders. Of these, more than 4 million TIN holders file returns every year.
