Conspiracies continue despite fall of dictatorship: Tarique Rahman
BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman has warned that conspiracies continue despite the fall of the dictatorship, urging maximum vigilance and preparation against any mischief ahead of this year’s Sharadiya Durga Puja.
In a statement on Wednesday (September 17), Tarique Rahman said Bangladesh has long set an example of religious harmony by celebrating Sharadiya Durgotsav traditionally and without hindrance.
“However, in recent times, beneficiaries of the former fugitive dictatorship have attempted to disrupt this harmony during Durgotsav for political gains,” he added.
He called on all BNP organs and affiliated organisations to work closely with people from all walks of life to ensure this year’s celebrations proceed peacefully.
Emphasizing respect for the religious rights of all citizens, Tarique Rahman said, “We remain committed to maintaining religious harmony and stand firmly against any attempts to undermine it.”
