Conspiracy was hatched to appoint a former Chief Justice as the President: President
President Md. Sahabuddin stated that there was a conspiracy to appoint a former Chief Justice as the President. He made this assertion during an extensive interview with the national media outlet Kaler Kantho at Bangabhaban last Friday night. The President claimed that following the failure of the political initiative, the interim government attempted to replace him with a former Chief Justice.
He also mentioned that an adviser had a meeting lasting an hour with the judge. Md. Sahabuddin remarked, “But that judge did not consent. He asserted that an incumbent president cannot be appointed unconstitutionally. The scheme collapsed due to his steadfastness.”
The President added, "I was informed by the armed forces that you are the chief of the armed forces. Your defeat signifies our defeat. The leaders of the three services had communicated to the head of the interim government about refraining from unconstitutional actions."
