A construction worker has died and three others sustained burn injuries after being electrocuted while working on an under-construction flyover at Kashipur in Narayanganj.

The incident took place around 8.00pm at Muktarpur-Panchabati road under Fatullah on Thursday (November 6).

The deceased was identified as Md Yasin Arafat Babu, 28, son of Abu Kalam from East Dhormoganj in Fatullah. The injured workers — Rabiul, 22, Zamir Ali, 23, and Imran, 22 — were taken to the National Institute of Burn and Plastic Surgery in Dhaka for treatment.

According to police, the four workers were lifting iron rods at the construction site. Suddenly, the rods came in contact with a live electric wire, instantly electrocuting Yasin and injuring the others.

Anwar Hossain, investigation officer at Fatullah Police Station, confirmed the incident, saying, "Police rushed to the spot immediately after being informed and found one worker dead on the scene."

"The injured were later transferred to Dhaka for specialized treatment," he added.
