Couple found dead in Bagerhat, note recovred from next to bodies
The police have recovered the bodies of a couple from the bedroom of their house in Bagerhat's Sharankhola upazila. A note was also recovered from the scene. However, an investigation is underway to find out who wrote the note and whether it is related to the deaths.
The incident took place in Rajoir village of the upazila around 11 am on Thursday (July 16).
The deceased were identified as Md. Kabir Hossain, son of Abdul Majid of Rajoir village, and his wife Halima Begum. Kabir was a jailer by profession. They have two children aged five years and two months.
Police said that after receiving information from locals, they went to the spot and recovered the bodies of the husband and wife. A note recovered from the body said that no one was responsible for the deaths and that they left this world voluntarily.
Locals claim that the couple had been having a family feud for a long time. However, it is not yet clear whether the death was related to the dispute.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Sharankhola Police Station Rokeya Khanam said that the bodies have been sent to the Bagerhat District Hospital morgue for autopsy to determine the real cause of death.
She added that initially it was learned that there had been a marital dispute between the husband and wife for the past week. In addition, injury marks were found on Halima Begum's neck. However, how this happened and the real cause of death can be confirmed after the autopsy report and investigation.
