Couple killed in train-motorcycle collision in Narsingdi

A couple was tragically killed when a train struck their motorcycle at the Dagria level crossing on the Dhaka-Sylhet route in Narsingdi district on Monday afternoon.

The victims have been identified as Aminul Islam Judge Mia, 48, and his wife Aklima Begum, 45, residents of Gazaria village in Monohardi upazila.

According to SM Zahirul Islam, in-charge of Narsingdi Railway Police Station, the accident occurred around 4 p.m. at an unauthorized level crossing when the Noakhali-bound ‘Upakul Express’ train, traveling from Dhaka, hit the motorcycle carrying the couple. Both died instantly at the scene.

The motorcycle was severely damaged in the collision.

The couple was returning home after visiting their son, Mahbubur Rahman, a Class XII student at Independent College in Sahepratab area.

Police recovered the bodies and took them to the Railway Police camp for further investigation.
