A Dhaka court has ordered the removal of a specific lot of Nestlé Bangladesh’s KitKat chocolate from the market. According to the court order, the disputed lot must be withdrawn from circulation until January 21, 2026.

Based on an application filed by the plaintiff at the food court, Dhaka South City Corporation Safe Food Inspector Kamrul Hasan said the Nestlé KitKat chocolate is an unregistered, unauthorised, unclear and substandard product that poses a serious threat to public health.

The application cited batch number 44399139 and production code 6294003539054. The plaintiff also sought the recall and destruction of the product from the market and requested a temporary suspension on its import, marketing and sale until BSTI licensing and clearance are obtained, in order to protect public health and restore discipline in the food business.
