COVID-19: Bangladesh reports 2 more deaths, 15 new cases

The Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) has confirmed two new deaths and 15 new COVID-19 infections in Bangladesh over the past 24 hours. A total of 174 samples were tested during this period.

This update was shared in the DGHS’s regular COVID-19 press briefing on Friday, June 13.

On Thursday, June 12, 15 new cases were identified from 134 tests.

With the recent fatalities, the total death toll from COVID-19 in Bangladesh has reached 29,402. The total number of confirmed cases now stands at 2,051,800.

In the last 24 hours, 18 patients have recovered, increasing the total recoveries to 2,019,398.

Since the start of the pandemic, the overall positivity rate is 13.05%, while the positivity rate over the past 24 hours is 8.62%.

Bangladesh reported its first COVID-19 cases on March 8, 2020, and the first death occurred ten days later on March 18. The deadliest days were August 5 and 10, 2021, with 264 deaths recorded each day.
