Crores of people are waiting to vote: Quader

Awami League (AL) General Secretary, also the Road Transport and Bridges Minister, Obaidul Quader said crores of people in the country are looking forward to casting votes for the 12th National Parliamentary elections on January 7.

He came up with the remarks at the announcement ceremony of Bangladesh Awami League's election manifesto at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel in the capital on Wednesday.

Obaidul Quader stated, "IRI said in their research report that 70 percent of Bangladeshi people support Sheikh Hasina. There is nothing to fear in the elections, we have seen this fire fueled by terrorism again and again. By confronting these conspiracies and terrorism, we will win the hearts of people, Inshallah."

"We have to arrange the election, due to the obligation of the constitution. No one has transferred power peacefully except the Awami League. We believe that the elected government will hand over power to the elected government," he added.
