Cucsu elections scheduled for October 12

The Chittagong University Students’ Union (Cucsu) elections will be held on October 12, with voting scheduled from 9am to 4pm. Hall union elections will also take place on the same day.

Cucsu Chief Election Commissioner Professor Monir Uddin announced the schedule at a press conference on Thursday (August 28) at the university’s Sociology Faculty Auditorium.

According to the schedule, the draft voter list will be published on September 1, with objections accepted until September 4. The final voter list will be released on September 11. Nomination papers will be distributed from September 14 to 16, while submission is set for September 15 and 17. Scrutiny will be held on September 18, followed by the publication of the preliminary list of candidates on September 21.

The deadline for withdrawal of nominations is September 23. Objections will be settled on September 24, and the final list of candidates will be announced on September 25.

Vice-Chancellor Professor Yahya Akhtar, Pro-VC (Education) Professor Shamim Uddin Khan, Pro-VC (Administration) Professor Kamal Uddin, and other election commission members were present during the announcement.
