Cumilla Additional SP Saiful Malik passes away

Cumilla's Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle), Mohammad Saiful Malik, has died while undergoing treatment at a hospital in the capital. He was 45.

Saiful Malik breathed his last at Evercare Hospital in Dhaka at 6:22am on Thursday (July 23), after battling complications from a heart condition, police officials confirmed.

According to colleagues, he suffered a heart attack several days ago and was initially treated at a private hospital in Cumilla before being shifted to Green Life Hospital in Dhaka. He was later transferred to Evercare Hospital for advanced treatment, where he underwent surgery but could not be saved.

Born in 1981 in Hajiganj upazila of Chandpur, Saiful Malik was the son of freedom fighter Abul Kalam. A graduate of the 28th batch of the Department of Zoology at Jahangirnagar University, he completed his master's degree in 2005 before joining the Bangladesh Police through the 34th BCS in 2016.

He was serving as Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) in Cumilla at the time of his death.

Known among colleagues for his professionalism, integrity and humility, Saiful Malik is survived by his wife, two children and a host of relatives, colleagues and well-wishers.

Cumilla Superintendent of Police Md Anisuzzaman expressed deep sorrow over his passing, praying for the eternal peace of the deceased and extending condolences to the bereaved family.
