Cumilla Triple Murder: 6 more arrested in Dhaka
Six more individuals have been arrested in Dhaka's Banasree area in connection with the killing of three members of a family in Koibari village, under Bangra Bazar Police Station in Muradnagar upazila.
The arrests were made on Saturday by members of RAB-11's CPC-2 Cumilla unit, based on secret information.
A total of eight people have now been detained in connection with the incident. RAB officials said more details would be provided at a press conference at the RAB Media Center at 5:30pm. The arrested individuals will be handed over to Bangra Bazar Police Station.
Earlier in the day, two suspects—Md Sabir Ahmed, 48, and Md Nazimuddin Babul, 56,—were arrested during a joint operation in Muradnagar's Akabpur area.
The killings took place on Thursday, July 3, during a clash over alleged drug dealings and mobile phone theft. The victims—Roksana Begum Ruby, 55, her son Rasel Mia, 35, and daughter Taspiya Akter Jonaki, 29,—were beaten to death. Another family member, Ruma Akter, 28, was injured and is currently receiving treatment in Dhaka.
A murder case was filed Friday night by the victims' relative Rikta Begum, naming 38 individuals, including local UP Chairman Shimul Billal, and 20–25 unidentified persons.
