Cyber attack targets live broadcast of tribunal hearing on Sheikh Hasina
A cyberattack targeted the official Facebook page broadcasting the ongoing war crimes tribunal proceedings against Sheikh Hasina and two others, Chief Prosecutor Tajul Islam has confirmed.
"The page was quickly recovered and broadcasting resumed," Tajul Islam said.
The attack took place on Sunday (October 12) during the live streaming of the prosecution’s arguments in the case involving crimes against humanity allegedly committed in July–August 2024.
The International Crimes Tribunal is currently hearing final arguments in the case. In the morning session, Chief Prosecutor Tajul Islam presented arguments on behalf of the prosecution.
Government-appointed defense lawyers for Sheikh Hasina and Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal are scheduled to present their side next, followed by the prosecution’s rebuttal.
According to court sources, the argument phase will continue over the next few working days. Once completed, the case will move to the verdict stage.
