David Emon associate among 3 held with firearms in Fatikchhari

Police have arrested three alleged criminals, including Mohammad Mobarak, also known as “Gola Kata Mobarak”, an associate of Chattogram’s alleged top criminal David Emon, after a reported gunfight in Fatikchhari upazila.

Police said they recovered several locally made and foreign-made pistols, revolvers and ammunition during the operation.

Robiul Alam Khan, officer-in-charge (OC) of Fatikchhari Police Station, said, "The arrests were made during a raid in the Kanchannagar area at around 3am on Wednesday."

The other two suspects were identified as Rayhan and Farid, both described by police as associates of Mobarak.

According to the police, the suspects opened fire after noticing the presence of law enforcers, prompting police to return fire. The three were subsequently arrested with firearms and ammunition.

Police said the detainees are accused in several cases. Further legal action is under way.
