Daytime temperatures set to gradually increase
The intensity of cold weather has risen across 10 districts, including the northern towns of the country.
However, temperatures in Dhaka and its surrounding areas are expected to rise during the daytime compared to the night. The sky will remain clear, with no dense fog in sight.
Bangladesh Meteorological Department meteorologist Md. Hafizur Rahman shared this information while
speaking to the media on Saturday morning (January 11).
“Dhaka will feel colder at night due to slightly lower temperatures, but daytime temperatures are likely to gradually increase. Dense fog is not expected to return anytime soon, so daytime temperatures will improve slightly. This trend applies to Dhaka and nearby areas," he said.
"However, a mild to moderate cold wave persists in parts of Mymensingh, Sylhet, and the northern towns. Another cold wave may arrive later, following a brief break in current conditions,” he added.
The weather forecast for Dhaka and surrounding areas over the next six hours, starting from 7.00am today, indicates dry weather with clear skies. Daytime temperatures are expected to rise slightly, with winds blowing from the north or northwest at speeds of 5–10 kilometers per hour.
At 6.00am, Dhaka recorded a temperature of 13.8 degrees Celsius with 91 percent humidity. No rainfall was reported in Dhaka or its surrounding areas over the past 24 hours.
