DB hands over 6 quota reform coordinators to their families

Six coordinators of the quota reform movement have been released from custody by the Detective Branch (DB) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP).

They were handed over to their families at 1:40 pm on Thursday (August 1) and were seen leaving in a DB car. Badrul Islam, the father of coordinator Nahid Islam, confirmed the matter.

Badrul Islam said, "The DB called each family at 6:00 am and asked them to come to the DB office. Later, around 1:30 pm, everyone was returned home by the DB’s own transport system."

The six coordinators of the quota reform movement are Md. Nahid Islam, Md. Sarjis Alam, Hasnat Abdullah, Md. Abu Bakr Majumder, Asif Mahmud, and Nusrat Tabassum.

Earlier on July 26, quota reform movement coordinators Nahid Islam, Asif Mahmud, and Abu Bakr Majumdar were taken from the hospital to the DB office on Minto Road in the capital.

The following day (July 27), Md. Sarjis Alam, Hasnat Abdullah, and Nusrat Tabassum were also taken into DB custody.
