Decision on electricity prices expected on Wednesday
The Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) will take a decision on the proposal to revise the wholesale (bulk), transmission and retail prices of electricity on Wednesday (June 3).
This information was given in a notification by the commission on Tuesday (June 2).
The notification said that the Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB) submitted proposals to change the wholesale and retail prices, Power Grid Bangladesh PLC (PGBPLC) transmission prices and Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB), Dhaka Power Distribution Company (DPDC), Dhaka Electric Supply Company (DESCO), West Zone Power Distribution Company (WZPDCL) and Northern Electricity Supply PLC (NESCO) retail prices to the commission.
According to the notification, public hearings were held on these proposals on May 20 and 21. The commission's decision will be announced at 3pm on Wednesday after reviewing the proposals.
The decision will be announced through a press briefing at the hearing room of the commission office on the sixth floor of the Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) building in Ramna, Dhaka.
