Decomposed body of businessman recovered from Cox's Bazar hotel

Police have recovered a partially decomposed body of a man from a room of a residential hotel on Anderson Road in Cox's Bazar town. The body was recovered after breaking open the door of room number 408 of Hotel Nishita on Wednesday afternoon, April 29.

The deceased was identified as Arjun Dash, 60, a businessman from Fenj district. He was the son of Sridham Chandra Dash.

According to police and hotel sources, Arjun Dash had rented the room on April 25 for three days, accompanied by an unknown individual. When hotel staff did not receive any response after the stipulated time, the body started to decompose. Finding the door locked, staff eventually called the police.

Police recovered the body and sent it to Cox's Bazar Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy. A towel was found next to the body. No other information was immediately available.

Cox's Bazar Sadar Model Police Station OC Md Saniuzzaman said CCTV footage from the hotel is being analysed to identify the unknown person who was with the deceased.
