Dengue: 3 more die, 700 hospitalized in 24 hrs
Dengue continues to claim lives across the country, with three more deaths reported in the past 24 hours. During the same period, 700 new patients were admitted to hospitals nationwide.
According to a press release issued on Wednesday (October 2) by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS), this year’s dengue death toll has risen to 220, while total reported cases have reached 52,104.
Of the latest fatalities, one was a resident of Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and another from Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), the report said.
In the past 24 hours, 131 new patients were admitted in Barishal, 70 in Chattogram, 142 in Dhaka Division, 141 in DNCC, 114 in DSCC, 41 in Khulna, 34 in Mymensingh, 32 in Rajshahi, and 10 in Rangpur Division.
Meanwhile, 666 patients recovered and were discharged during the same period, bringing the total number of recoveries this year to 48,667.
