Dengue: 5 more dies, 636 hospitalised in 24 hours
Five more people have died from dengue in the past 24 hours, while 636 new patients were admitted to hospitals, the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) reported on Monday (September 15).
The data, collected from 8am on Sunday (September 14) to 8am on Monday, showed that the new hospitalisations are distributed as follows: 131 in Barishal division, 92 in Chattogram division, 131 in Dhaka division, 105 in Dhaka North City Corporation, 97 in Dhaka South City Corporation, 29 in Khulna division, 6 in Mymensingh division, 34 in Rajshahi division, 7 in Rangpur division, and 4 in Sylhet division.
During the same period, 502 patients were discharged after treatment, bringing the total number of recoveries this year to 36,528.
As of September 15, a total of 38,527 dengue patients have been admitted nationwide in 2025, with 60.2 percent men and 39.8 percent women.
Of the five recent deaths, three were women and two were men, raising the country’s total dengue death toll this year to 155.
