Dengue claims 2 more lives

The dengue outbreak in the country shows no signs of abating, with 279 new patients admitted to hospitals from 8am Friday to 8am Saturday. During the same period, two more people succumbed to the disease.

The Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services reported these figures in a press release on Saturday, September 13.

Among the newly admitted patients, 45 are from Barishal division, 84 from Chattogram, 42 from Dhaka division (outside city corporations), 33 from Dhaka North City, 64 from Dhaka South City, 2 from Khulna division, and 9 from Mymensingh division.

Meanwhile, 308 dengue patients recovered and were discharged nationwide within the last 24 hours. This brings the total number of recovered patients discharged this year to 35,337.

According to health authorities, from January 1 to September 13, a total of 37,206 dengue patients have been hospitalized across the country, with 147 fatalities recorded.

Officials continue to urge the public to take preventive measures seriously as the outbreak persists.
