Dengue claims 5 more lives, 622 hospitalised in 24 hrs
Five more people have died from dengue in the past 24 hours, while 622 new patients have been admitted to hospitals across the country, according to a press release issued by the Health Emergency Operation Center and Control Room of the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday (September 17).
Of the new admissions, 131 were reported in Barishal division, 104 in areas under Dhaka division outside the capital, 100 in Dhaka North City, 99 in Dhaka South City, 98 in Chattogram division, 51 in Rajshahi, 19 in Mymensingh, 14 in Khulna, and 6 in Rangpur division.
During the same period, 508 patients were released after recovery. So far this year, 37,688 patients have recovered and been discharged.
Since January, 39,814 people have been hospitalised with dengue, while the death toll has risen to 161, DGHS data shows.
